Supreme Court Calls on Muslims in Saudi Arabia to Sight Dhu Al-Hijjah Crescent Tomorrow

Riyadh: The Supreme Court has called upon all Muslims throughout the Kingdom to sight the crescent moon of the month of Dhu Al-Hijjah tomorrow evening. The court requested that anyone who sights the crescent moon, whether with the naked eye or through binoculars, report the sighting to the nearest court to register their testimony, or contact the nearest official center for assistance in reaching a court.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this call is part of the efforts to determine the beginning of the month of Dhu Al-Hijjah, which is significant for setting the date for the annual pilgrimage, Hajj, and the celebration of Eid al-Adha. The sighting of the crescent moon marks the commencement of the Islamic month, and accurate sighting is crucial for aligning religious observances with the lunar calendar.

The Supreme Court emphasized the importance of participation from the community to ensure a confirmed sighting. They encouraged citizens who are able to sight the crescent to assist in this religious and civic duty.
