Makkah: National parks in Makkah Region stand as environmental and developmental assets, blending natural beauty with rich vegetation, opening opportunities for ecotourism and sustainable investment while contributing to quality of life and resource utilization.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification oversees these parks, working to protect natural resources, rehabilitate sites, upgrade infrastructure, and strengthen partnerships with the private sector and local communities.

The region includes several parks with unique environmental characteristics. Saiysad National Park in Taif has undergone facility upgrades, afforestation initiatives, and wildlife releases to enhance biodiversity. Jabal Al-Qamar National Park in Khulais Governorate spans more than 18 million square meters and features rock formations and diverse vegetation.

Wadi Qudaid Park houses a research station studying plants, soil, and water, integrating environmental rehabilitation with scientific research. Jumum Eco-Park and Hali Wildlife Park in Al-Qunfudhah Governorate have each seen the planting of approximately 90,000 trees.

These parks attract investment in ecotourism and entertainment, create economic opportunities, and support the targets of the Saudi Green Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030.
