Vice Minister of Environment Highlights Saudi Arabia’s Commitment to Global Water Sustainability at Upcoming World Water Forum

Jeddah: Vice Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Mansour Almushaiti affirmed that the Second Stakeholders' Consultation Meeting for the 11th World Water Forum marked a significant milestone in preparations for Saudi Arabia's hosting of the forum in Riyadh in 2027. Almushaiti emphasized the meeting's role in defining a clearer roadmap and identifying practical outcomes to strengthen international efforts addressing water challenges, while deepening partnerships for a sustainable water future on national, regional, and global scales.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the vice minister made these remarks during his closing address at the Second Stakeholders' Consultation Meeting held in Jeddah. The gathering attracted ministers, senior officials, heads of delegations, policymakers, experts, and representatives from international and regional organizations to prepare for the forum, which will be held under the theme 'Action for a Better Tomorrow' in March 2027.

Almushaiti highlighted the progress achieved across the forum's three tracks. The political track focused on ministerial, parliamentary, local, and regional government engagement. The thematic track advanced work on six main themes: water security, water financing, water for people and nature, water governance and diplomacy, innovation in water management, and the value of water. The regional track underscored local and regional experiences while exploring solutions to water-related challenges.

Participants reviewed concept notes covering six main themes, 30 sub-themes, four regions, and three levels of political engagement, shaping a shared vision for the forum's outcomes and clarifying the roadmap ahead of its launch in Riyadh in 2027. Almushaiti stated that the forum's theme, 'Action for a Better Tomorrow', would guide upcoming preparations, turning ideas into initiatives and discussions into partnerships, with a focus on practical results.

As the meeting concluded, Almushaiti stressed the importance of consolidating the meeting's outcomes, strengthening links between the three tracks, and further developing proposed initiatives to maintain momentum leading up to the forum's opening in March 2027.
