Arab League Chief Condemns IRGC’s Infiltration into Kuwait’s Bubiyan Island

Kuwait city: Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit strongly condemned the infiltration of armed elements of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) into Bubiyan Island and their clash with Kuwaiti armed forces, which resulted in the injury of one service member.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Aboul Gheit described the incident as a violation of Kuwait's sovereignty and security and a breach of international law, the United Nations Charter, and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817.

He stated that the armed Iranian infiltration of the Kuwaiti island represents a dangerous precedent and an unacceptable escalation, revealing an intent to destabilize regional security amid the current circumstances.

He expressed his rejection of the Iranian escalation targeting several Gulf states in recent days, calling on Iran to immediately cease all hostile acts against Arab states and holding it fully responsible for the consequences of such actions.

The secretary-general also affirmed the Arab League's full solidarity with Kuwait and support for its right to take whatever measures it deems appropriate to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing that Kuwait's security is an integral part of Arab national security.
