Jeddah: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, presided over the Cabinet session held in Jeddah. HRH the Crown Prince informed the Cabinet about his recent telephone discussions with President Vladimir Putin of Russia and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of Italy.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Cabinet reviewed the latest developments on Arab, regional, and international fronts, reaffirming the Kingdom’s consistent stances on these matters and its commitment to supporting efforts aimed at promoting regional and global security and stability. The Cabinet condemned the renewed attacks by Israeli occupation forces on the Gaza Strip, urging the international community to urgently intervene to halt these actions and address the humanitarian crisis faced by the Palestinian people.
In a statement following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary highlighted the Cabinet’s welcome of the peace negotiations conclusion between Azerbaijan and Armenia, along with the border demarcation agreement between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, expressing hopes for their ongoing progress and prosperity. Domestically, the Cabinet praised the unveiling of the Saudi Architecture Characters Map, which showcases 19 architectural styles reflecting the Kingdom’s diverse geographical, natural, and cultural characteristics while contributing to the preservation of urban heritage and the enhancement of the quality of life.
The Cabinet also deliberated on strategies to enhance development and service projects, strengthen the social welfare and protection system, and accelerate national progress in alignment with Vision 2030 objectives. The review of national economic performance indicators and recent credit rating upgrades underscored the importance of ongoing structural reforms and the creation of an environment conducive to economic transformation and diversification.
Al-Dossary further reported that the Cabinet expressed gratitude for the proactive security measures in collaboration with international partners to combat drug smuggling networks. The Cabinet specifically commended the Iraqi Ministry of Interior for thwarting a significant smuggling attempt based on intelligence from Saudi authorities.
During the session, the Cabinet addressed various agenda items and made several decisions, including authorizing and approving multiple memoranda of understanding and agreements with countries such as Egypt, Japan, Comoros, Qatar, Iceland, Pakistan, Suriname, Lithuania, Mauritania, and Malaysia, covering areas from cultural cooperation to economic and technical collaboration.
