Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program and Najran University Collaborate to Enhance Yemen’s Capacity

Najran: The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) and Najran University have formalized a cooperation memorandum aimed at bolstering capacity building in Yemen, alongside advancing research, development, and innovation within development projects. This collaboration seeks to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of these initiatives, ensuring a lasting impact on Yemen's development trajectory.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement will focus on several key areas, including human capacity building and the provision of training accredited by Najran University. It also emphasizes the development of university education in Yemen to better align with labor market demands. This strategic move is expected to significantly contribute to the enhancement of skills and knowledge within the Yemeni workforce.

The memorandum outlines a framework for providing comprehensive advisory, administrative, and technical support for SDRPY's projects. These projects span priority sectors such as renewable and clean energy, agriculture and water, and transportation. By targeting these areas, the cooperation aims to address critical needs and drive sustainable development efforts in Yemen.

SDRPY has already undertaken a substantial portfolio of 300 development projects and initiatives, either completed or currently in progress, across various Yemeni governorates. These projects cover eight essential sectors: education, health, transport, water, energy, agriculture and fisheries, development programs, and government capacity development and support. This latest agreement with Najran University further underscores SDRPY's commitment to fostering development and stability in Yemen.
