Riyadh: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), has launched a national training program aimed at qualifying over 20,000 Saudi citizens in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud computing. This initiative is part of the Kingdom's efforts to enhance digital skills and support its transition towards a smart economy.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the program features two distinct training tracks delivered through AWS Academy. These tracks provide learning experiences that focus on applying advanced technologies in practical projects, thereby raising professional competence, equipping trainees with job-market skills, and aiding organizations in keeping pace with technological advancements.
The first training track is an intensive course targeting more than 10,000 trainees, combining theoretical learning with practical application. It covers AI and machine learning fundamentals, generative AI concepts, use cases across sectors, basics of model training and operation, and principles of responsible AI.
The second track centers on cloud computing, where participants learn about core concepts, security and compliance mechanisms, pricing and cost management models, and best practices for cloud infrastructure. It also emphasizes the business value of cloud technologies in supporting organizational growth.
Participants in the program will receive international certifications from AWS Academy, enhancing their competitiveness in the job market. Furthermore, MCIT and AWS have set a goal to train and upskill 100,000 Saudis by 2030 through this program.
