ZATCA Urges Establishments Subject to Excise Tax to File Returns for July, August

Riyadh: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has urged establishments subject to the excise tax to file their tax returns for July and August by September 15. The authority emphasized the importance of timely submission to avoid penalties.

According to Saudi Press Agency, ZATCA called on establishments to promptly submit the returns through its website, zatca.gov.sa. Failure to comply with the deadline will result in a fine of 5% for the unpaid tax for each 30 days after the due date.

Business taxpayers seeking more information about the excise tax have several avenues for assistance. They can contact the unified call center, which operates 24/7, at 19993. Additionally, support is available via ZATCA’s X account (Zatca_Care), email (infozatca.gov.sa), or through instant messaging on the ZATCA website.

The excise tax is applied at different rates on goods considered harmful to public health or the environment. These goods include soft drinks, energy drinks, sweetened beverages, and tobacco.
