In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stressed that targeting Makkah and the Grand Mosque, the Qiblah of Muslims and the holiest place on Earth, constitutes a sinful aggression and a flagrant violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites, as well as an extremely dangerous provocation of the feelings of all Muslims.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Sudanese ministry noted that the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques and the holy sites, and the security and safety of those visiting them, are matters that cannot be compromised or threatened. It emphasized that exposing them to any hostile acts or using them in the context of conflicts and disputes constitutes a dangerous and condemned escalation.

Sudan stressed the need to respect the sanctity of holy sites and shield them from the risks of escalation in a manner that preserves the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region as a whole.

The statement expressed Sudan's full solidarity with the Kingdom, its standing alongside it, and its support for its legitimate right to take whatever measures and steps it deems necessary to protect its security and territorial integrity, safeguard the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques, and protect pilgrims.
