According to Saudi Press Agency, participants emphasized the importance of transitioning from individual compliance to multinational alliances and of enhancing government collaboration to mitigate space debris. Sessions explored how regulatory frameworks and governance can shape global efforts in debris mitigation and removal, reviewing how governments and industry stakeholders are translating policies into actionable initiatives.
Key discussions focused on practical measures for active debris removal (ADR), including the latest developments and necessary steps to turn vision into reality through effective procedures. Participants stressed the need to address various dimensions essential for successful ADR, including the technical dimension, which focuses on innovations and future solutions in debris removal; the market dimension, highlighting the role of commercial companies, economic incentives, and regulations in establishing a sustainable ADR market; and international cooperation, which involves setting standards and rules in a complex environment for both space and Earth.
