Riyadh: The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) conducted an inspection and awareness campaign targeting water tankers in Dammam to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and verify the safety of water transportation practices.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the campaign resulted in the authority detecting 13 violations involving operators conducting business without the required licenses. These violations were among a total of 55 recorded by the three participating entities, each within its respective jurisdiction, and were documented in accordance with approved procedures.

The campaign covered both potable and non-potable water tankers. The authority verified the regulatory status of operators and their compliance with requirements related to the safe transportation of water, public health, and environmental protection, ensuring beneficiaries receive safe and reliable services.

The campaign is part of integrated government efforts to enhance the reliability of water transportation services, improve road safety, and raise operators' awareness of the requirements they must meet.

The authority affirmed that field inspection campaigns will continue, urging water transportation operators to obtain the necessary licenses and comply with approved requirements to protect beneficiaries' rights, support the safe and high-quality transportation of water, and reduce health and environmental risks.
