Islamic Ministry Launches Multilingual Sharia Inquiry Hotline for Pilgrims

Riyadh: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has launched a complimentary telephone service aimed at addressing Sharia-related inquiries for pilgrims. This initiative, executed by the General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness in Hajj, Umrah, and Visitation, enlists the expertise of the ministry's preachers and complements an existing automated response system. It marks the second phase of a broader Islamic awareness campaign during the ongoing Umrah season of 1447 AH, aligning with the broader objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by integrating modern technology to enhance pilgrim services.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the newly launched hotline (8002451000) offers automated responses in ten languages, including Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Indonesian, Filipino, Hausa, Bengali, and Hindi. This service operates round-the-clock with remote call reception, featuring direct preacher interaction during peak periods such as Ramadan and Hajj. The initiative underscores the ministry's commitment to educating Umrah participants on conducting rituals in accordance with the Holy Quran and Sunnah.

These awareness efforts reflect the ministry's dedication to promoting the principles of Islam, emphasizing ease, tolerance, and moderation in worship and daily conduct. The initiative fulfills the directives of Saudi Arabia's leadership, which prioritizes leveraging all available resources to ensure pilgrims can perform their religious duties with ease and comfort.
