SDAIA Showcases AI Ethics at UNESCO Executive Board

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) participated in the 217th session of the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which was held in the organization’s headquarters in Paris.

During the meeting, the SDAIA representative stressed the importance of applying ethics when using artificial-intelligence (AI) technologies, citing the code of AI ethics SDAIA launched during the 2nd edition of the Global AI Summit in Riyadh in 2022.

In July 2023, the Council of Ministers endorsed the establishment of the International Center for Research and AI Ethics to be headquartered in Riyadh.

The center enhances the Kingdom’s work with other UNESCO member states in supporting international research efforts in AI technologies and other advanced scientific domains.
