RGA Reports Over 65,000 Vehicles on Makkah Routes During Dhu Al-Hijjah

Najran: More than 65,000 vehicles traveled on roads leading to Makkah on the second day of Dhu Al-Hijjah, as part of operational and organizational efforts aimed at facilitating pilgrim movement during the 1447 AH Hajj season and improving traffic flow across the road network leading to Makkah.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Roads General Authority (RGA) indicated that Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road experienced the highest traffic volume, with 16,087 vehicles. This was followed by Al-Laith Road, which saw 13,174 vehicles, and the Taif-Makkah Road via Al-Sayl Al-Kabeer, with 11,374 vehicles.

The RGA further detailed that the Makkah-Taif Road (Aqabat Al-Hada) recorded a traffic flow of 7,894 vehicles, while 7,663 vehicles used the Hijrah Road. Additionally, the Makkah-Jeddah Road (Bahra) saw 6,591 vehicles, and the direct Makkah-Jeddah road recorded 2,643 vehicles.

The authority affirmed its ongoing operational and field readiness on roads leading to the holy sites through continuous traffic monitoring and the enhancement of safety measures and services provided to pilgrims. These efforts contribute to smoother movement and greater comfort during the Hajj season.
