Muslim World League Condemns E1 Settlement Plan in East Jerusalem

Riyadh: The Muslim World League has expressed its strong condemnation and complete rejection of the E1 settlement plan and related settlement activities in occupied East Jerusalem. The League's statement highlights the potential threat this plan poses to the realization of an independent Palestinian state. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the General Secretariat of the League, led by His Excellency the Secretary-General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, has condemned this plan as dangerous. The League's statement criticizes illegal Israeli settlement policies in the occupied Palestinian territory and the support and protection of violations and acts of violence committed by settlers against the Palestinian people and their property. The statement emphasizes that these actions are part of an Israeli approach that continues to violate international laws and resolutions, undermining all peace efforts. His Eminence stressed the urgent need for t he international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities towards the immediate cessation of all acts of violence, violations, and settlement policies. He also highlighted the importance of preventing measures that aim to change the geographic and demographic character of the occupied Palestinian territory. Furthermore, the statement appreciatively noted the solidarity expressed by foreign ministers from several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt. These nations have shown firm support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, advocating for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state as part of a two-state solution, in accordance with relevant international resolutions.
