Marib: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), laid the foundation stone for three vital water projects in Marib Governorate, as part of a program to improve access to safe and clean water in Yemen.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the projects include expanding water systems in several camps and residential neighborhoods in the governorate by drilling wells, building ground-level and elevated tanks, extending internal distribution networks, and establishing water desalination and purification plants in line with approved health standards.
The projects aim to improve water services for more than 50,000 beneficiaries among displaced people and the host community, amid rising population density in the governorate due to waves of displacement.
Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-Rabbo Miftah praised the support of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, saying the projects mark a qualitative shift in strengthening water services and alleviating the suffering of displaced people in the governorate.
The projects are part of Saudi Arabia's humanitarian and relief efforts, provided through KSrelief, to support Yemen's water and environmental sanitation sector.
