Riyadh: The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Egypt marked World Arabic Language Day on Wednesday, in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Saleh Al-Husseini, Arab ambassadors, a number of university presidents, intellectuals, Egyptian media figures, and embassy staff.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Ambassador Al-Husseini, during his speech, highlighted that the Kingdom’s commitment to the Arabic language is embedded within a sustainable and institutional framework. He emphasized that under Saudi Vision 2030, the Kingdom has witnessed significant progress through the establishment of the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL). This academy has emerged as a prominent international entity supporting the Arabic language across more than 60 countries.
Furthermore, the ambassador mentioned the launch of digital platforms that serve speakers of over 20 languages, alongside initiatives that recognize individuals and institutions promoting the Arabic language both locally and globally. He affirmed that these endeavors indicate that the Arabic language, due to the Kingdom’s concerted efforts, has transcended its traditional role of documentation and preservation, advancing towards empowerment and development.
The event also included an Arabic calligraphy corner and visual presentations that showcased the beauty and intricacy of the Arabic language.
