Riyadh: The early signs of Jacaranda season have begun to adorn the city of Abha and several other governorates across Aseer Region, transforming the landscape into a vibrant canvas of purple and lavender hues. The eye-catching blooms have become one of the region’s key tourist attractions, signaling the arrival of spring.
According to Saudi Press Agency, cameras captured the first blossoms of the Jacaranda trees, whose vivid colors enhance the natural beauty of the season. Belonging to the Bignoniaceae family, the Jacaranda genus includes around 45 species of trees and shrubs. The trees are deciduous in areas with harsh winters and evergreen conifers in more temperate climates.
Jacaranda trees can grow over 18 meters tall, reaching up to 3 meters in their first year. They naturally propagate through seeds during the months of March and April but can also be grown year-round in protected environments or through modern cultivation techniques.
Their annual blooming continues to enhance the charm of Abha and reflects the region’s unique environmental diversity and commitment to beautification efforts.
