Riyadh: The Human Rights Commission, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sport and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), participated in celebrating the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, observed annually on April 6.
According to Saudi Press Agency, motivational sports messages were displayed during major sporting events held across stadiums in the Kingdom. The initiative aimed to promote values of tolerance, encourage intercultural dialogue, and strengthen human connections.
The commission’s participation underscores its belief in the power of sport as an effective tool for advancing peace and development, fostering social inclusion, and combating prejudice against women, minorities, and persons with disabilities.
Its engagement also highlighted the growing positive impact of sport in driving developmental and humanitarian change, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
