Astana: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance will hold the second International Quran Recitation and Memorization Competition tomorrow at Astana Grand Mosque in Kazakhstan, featuring 22 contestants from 21 countries.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the competition is part of the ministry’s international programs aimed at extending the Kingdom’s efforts to serve the Holy Quran and its reciters worldwide. It also reflects the Kingdom’s leading role in promoting the values of moderation, balance, and Islamic cooperation.
Contestants will compete in memorizing and reciting the entire Holy Quran before a specialized international jury. The competition will conclude on Thursday, October 16, with a closing ceremony to honor the winners and distribute prizes.
The ceremony will be attended by Kazakhstan’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Nauryzbay Otpenov, along with several ministers, ambassadors of participating countries, distinguished scholars, senior officials, and religious figures.
