Riyadh: The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority has officially joined UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Program, marking it as the first Saudi royal reserve to achieve this international recognition. This milestone underscores the Kingdom’s dedication to preserving its natural landscapes while enhancing its role in global biodiversity conservation and sustainable development, aligning with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Minister of State, Cabinet Member, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the authority, Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, highlighted that this recognition serves as both an environmental achievement and a testament to the Kingdom’s leadership on the global stage. He noted that the reserve exemplifies a national model for managing royal reserves, merging the site’s heritage with innovative conservation strategies and promoting sustainable development principles.
