Aseer: The Heritage Commission has concluded the 17th season of its archaeological excavation project at the Jurash site in Aseer Region, as part of its ongoing efforts to preserve national heritage, document archaeological and architectural features, and highlight the Kingdom's cultural diversity.
According to Saudi Press Agency, excavations uncovered residential structures from two distinct periods, built with dressed stone and mud mortar. These units include grain storage niches, pottery ovens, and basins, reflecting the architectural traditions of their respective periods.
A range of artifacts was also discovered, including stone tools such as pestles and millstones, as well as glass vessels.
The commission reaffirmed its commitment to continued archaeological work and to strengthening documentation and protection efforts, supporting the preservation of cultural heritage in line with Vision 2030.
