The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingddom of Saudi Arabia Shahin Abdullayev, and discussed the 2nd edition of the GCC-Azeri Business Forum, building on the success of the first chapter in 2017.

Albudaiwi stressed the importance of reinforcing GCC-Azeri relations and expanding cooperations to serve common interests in different fields, within the memorandum of understanding which was signed between the two sides.

He noted the need to further joint cooperation in the sectors of energy, trade, investment, food security culture, tourism and education

The “Ramadan Majlises and Teamsn Tournament” for the padel sport kicked off at the Pink Padel court, with the participation of 96 professional and amateur players.

The tournament, which is part of a series of Ramadan activities, is in line with the support of the Southern Governor, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, for various events and programmes aimed at strengthening community partnership among various social segments.

It is also part of the Southern Governorate’s keenness to embrace the distinguished and exceptional initiatives during the holy month, to ensure enhanced awareness of the importance of sports and health practices and their positive impact on the individual and society, as well as strengthening the frameworks of community partnership, in a way that supports its goals of serving the community, by allowing everyone, professional or amateur, to show their capabilities.

12 8-player teams are participating in the tournament, and the winners will be crowned on March 29.

Riyadh-- The Federation of Saudi Chambers and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Angola signed here today a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen the economic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Angola.

The MoU areas of cooperation include enhancing communication between the Saudi and Angolan business sectors, tackling trade challenges, exchanging information on markets and investment opportunities as well as visits of trade delegations, and holding events and exhibitions.

Jeddah, The Red Sea International Film Festival (RedSeaIFF) has continued its activities by launching the Red Sea Competition, which will showcase the most important creative achievements of filmmakers in its special sets for long and short films.

The line-up of 26 short films and 15 long films will present a distinguished group of talents from the Arab, African and Asian world, showcasing some of the most exciting, unique and impressive work produced in the past year.

The RedSeaIFF presents various programs and events with the aim of enhancing knowledge exchange, stimulating joint production and creating new opportunities for cooperation, distribution and production.

The RedSeaIFF attracts representatives from 46 countries, on the 3rd and 6th of December, as it gives attendees the opportunity to communicate and learn about the vital Saudi cinematic scene, in addition to the best productions in the Arab and African region.

The CEO of RedSeaIFF Mohammed Al-Turki, said that the 2nd session of the RedSeaIFF is being provided by unprecedented importance, along with remarkable attendance of cinema lovers, storytellers, talents and specialists in the film industry from all over the world.

Tunis-- The Film Commission recently inaugurated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's participation as a guest of honor in the 33rd session of the Carthage Film Festival.

This came in an inauguration ceremony held in the Cultural City in the Tunisian capital, in the presence of the Saudi delegation and a group of diplomats, intellectuals, academics and Arab filmmakers.

The participation comes to enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's cultural presence, promote the national cinematic experiences, and provide an opportunity for local talents to interact with other experiences through one of the most important and oldest Arab festivals specialized in the film industry.

Venice, September 5, 2022, SPA -- The Film Commission has participated in a discussion panel on the future of the film industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its regional and international influence, as part of the official program organized by the Venice production bridge at the Venice International Film Festival in Italy.

Director General of the Sector Development and Attracting Investments at the Commission Abduljalil Al-Nasser participated in the panel along with Film AlUla CEO Charlene Deleon-Jones, Managing Director at Red Sea International Film Festival Shivani Pandya and Managing Director of Media, Entertainment, Culture and Fashion Industries at NEOM Wayne Borg.

The panel went over the incentives program that the commission has launched to support films with up to 40% of financial recovery, which aims at attracting international production and stimulating the local production in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The program is part of a series of enablers that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia enjoys in the film industry, such as filming places, logistical support and technical personnel, which make the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia among the most attractive countries for cinematic production.

Al-Nasser said that there is a high level of coordination between public and private sector institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to build all part of the value chain related to the film industry, which is a result of the commission's awareness of the importance of the creative cycle of the film industry to build a comprehensive sector that serves filmmakers, noting that all participants in the panel praised the rich reserve of filming locations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which forms a fertile land to host several stories from across the world in high-quality production projects.
