Riyadh--The Saudi Film Commission will participate in the 79th edition of the Annaual Venice Film Festival, which will take place from 31 August till 10 September. The annual festival, which attracts a large audience turnout, includes a diverse collection of activities including cenimatic shows and discussion sessions.

The Film Commission, through participating in this global gathering, aims to consolidate its presence in international forums, intensify its relations with filmmakers in the world through dialogue sessions and bilateral meetings, and promote the incentives program implemented by the Commission to attract and encourage international film productions to film in the Kingdom, where the Commission will present workshops at the festival to showcase the benefits of the program to international filmmakers and film producers.

During its participation, the Commission will highlight the film industry in the Kingdom and the successful experiences, and its support for Saudi talents by strengthening its presence in major film platforms and finding opportunities for development and growth for them through effective international partnerships.

Riyadh-- The General Entertainment Authority has launched the "Riyadh Home Coming Festival", which will run from August 23 to September 5, 2022, from 4 pm to 10 pm, on Al-Hawa Street, near Riyadh City Boulevard.

The festival activities include discovering talents, riding the space shuttle, planting a tree, painting world paintings, learning operatic singing, cooking arts, visiting the moon (virtually), watching dinosaurs, chemical experiments, presenting news bulletins, and trips around the planets.

Saudi Arabia updates Covid regulations for pilgrims to Mecca

Saudi Arabia’s Hajj and Umrah ministry on Monday announced that pilgrims travelling to the kingdom for the Umrah pilgrimage will need to present a negative PCR or rapid antigen test on arrival. The new rules, which come into effect on Wednesday, require pilgrims to take the tests no more than 48 hours before travel. The rules will also apply to Saudi nationals and residents making the Hajj pilgrimage. Currently, foreigners are barred from the Hajj pilgrimage. Riyadh, Invest Saudi, the Saudi Ministry of Investment’s (MISA) investment promotion platform, today hosted in partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Pavilion current and potential investors at the Invest Saudi Forum at Expo Dubai 2020 to highlight untapped opportunities.

The forum opened with a keynote address and presentation providing an overview of the Saudi Arabia’s investment potential, followed by three plenary sessions which offered a deep dive into three sector areas.

The three topics showcased the following: Info Comms & Technology (ICT); Innovation and Education, and Entertainment, Sport, Culture and Tourism.

Attendees were able to explore these exciting sectors further during breakout sessions attended by key experts, looking specifically at culture and entertainment, the ICT sector in the Kingdom today, and innovation and education. Lunch and networking sessions followed, and a final plenary session by Invest Saudi introduced the Kingdom’s investor journey, an efficient process supported through extensive online government collaboration, illustrating how Invest Saudi can provide support to prospective investors.

A tour of the popular KSA Pavilion rounded off the day, which has received over 2.5 million visitors wanting to experience Saudi Arabia’s culture, innovations and ambitions.

The forum was part of a series of collaborations MISA has held with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Pavilion throughout Expo 2020 Dubai which also included a business briefing session during Saudi Day as well as multiple bilateral country-specific outreach.
