Border Guard Introduces New Electronic Services via Absher and Zawil Platforms

Riyadh: Under the patronage of Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Director General of Border Guard Major General Shaya Al-Wadaani has announced the launch of several new services offered by the General Directorate of Border Guard. These services are now accessible through the Ministry of Interior's electronic platform Absher and the Border Guard's e-services portal Zawil.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the newly launched services include the issuance of sailing permits for fishing, picnicking, and rescue operations available through the Absher Individuals platform. This enables vessel owners to obtain sailing permits with ease. Additionally, electronic diving permits can now be accessed via the Zawil portal on the Absher Business platform. This service allows diving centers, divers, and vessel owners to electronically issue and manage various types of diving permits for recreational or training purposes, in cooperation with the Saudi Water Sports and Diving Federation. Furthermore, the Zawil portal also supports vessel driving license applications, offering beneficiaries the ability to book driving test appointments for issuance or to view existing licenses.

These initiatives are part of the Ministry of Interior's broader strategy to advance digital transformation by introducing automated services. This transformation aims to enhance safety in marine activities and improve the quality of services provided by the General Directorate of Border Guard to all its beneficiaries.
