Tropical Storm Chan-hom Hits Tokyo, Cutting Power to Thousands of Homes

Tokyo: Tropical Storm Chan-hom struck the greater Tokyo area, uprooting trees, leaving thousands of homes without power, and causing minor injuries to five people.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the storm weakened after making landfall south of Ibaraki Prefecture before moving westward toward the north-central coast of the country, accompanied by winds of up to 64 kilometers per hour.

The storm came days after Typhoon Dolphin caused widespread disruption in southern Japan before weakening into a tropical storm.
