Transport and Logistic Services Sector Finalizes Strategic Readiness for Hajj 1447 AH

Riyadh: The Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services has announced the completion of its integrated operational readiness for the Hajj season 1447 AH. By harnessing administrative and human capabilities across air, land, rail, and sea sectors, the sector ensures a safe and seamless journey for pilgrims arriving from around the world, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to providing high-quality services in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in the aviation sector, the General Authority of Civil Aviation has allocated over 3.1 million seats across 12,000 flights, while the Matarat Holding Company has prepared six hub airports managed by 22,000 employees. Key initiatives include the no luggage service for baggage check-in from accommodations and expanded pre-shipment for Zamzam water. National carriers Saudia and Flynas have provided over one million and 147,000 seats, respectively, focusing on digital integration and comfort for international arrivals.

Rail transport is set to handle massive volumes, with the Al-Mashaaer Al-Mugaddassah Metro Line operating 2,000 trips for over two million passengers and the Haramain High-Speed Railway offering 2.21 million seats across 5,308 trips. The Roads General Authority completed a massive maintenance plan involving the removal of 56 million cubic meters of sand and the maintenance of 178,000 streetlights to ensure traffic safety.

Land transport preparations include a fleet of 33,000 buses and 5,000 taxis, supported by 180 inspectors. Logistically, Saudi Post is deploying 100 trucks and 65 parcel vehicles, alongside electric scooters for central areas, while the Saudi Ports Authority has finalized arrival procedures at Jeddah Islamic Port.

To ensure security, the National Transport Safety Center remains on 24/7 standby to provide rapid emergency response across all transport modes.
