Thunderstorms and Flash Flood Warnings Issued Across Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: Moderate to heavy thunderstorms accompanied by hail are forecasted to impact several regions in Saudi Arabia, leading to potential flash floods in areas including Riyadh, Makkah, Al-Baha, Aseer, Jazan, and Najran.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the National Center for Meteorology has also predicted light to moderate rain showers in parts of the Eastern, Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Tabuk, Hail, and Qassim regions. Gusty winds are expected to stir dust across these areas as well as parts of the Madinah Region.

The forecast for the Red Sea indicates winds from the north to northwest at speeds of 20-40 km/h in the northern and central parts, shifting to northwest to west at 15-50 km/h in the southern part. Wave heights are expected to range from one meter to over two and a half meters, with the sea conditions varying from calm to choppy. In the Arabian Gulf, winds are anticipated to be northwesterly to northeasterly at speeds of 10-50 km/h, with wave heights between half a meter and over two meters, resulting in calm to choppy sea conditions.
