Spokesman for the Turkish Ministry of Defense, Zaki Akturk, announced the killing of 892 people accused by the Turkish authorities of terrorism, most of whom were PKK militants inside the country, northern Iraq and Syria, during the first half of this year.

The Turkish Defense Spokesman said in a media circular today, Thursday, that the Turkish Armed Forces managed to neutralize 44 terrorists in the past seven days in the areas of military operations inside and outside the country.

He explained that the Turkish forces managed to neutralize 38,235 terrorist suspects since July 24, 2015, during military operations inside and outside Turkey.

With regard to Turkish border security, Akturk said that the Turkish border guard forces arrested 193 people who tried to enter Turkish territory illegally in the past seven days, and that his country's forces also prevented 2,900 people from crossing the border illegally during the past seven days as well.

He indicated that the number of people who were arrested while trying to enter Turkish territory illegally during the current year reached 4,258 people./ End
