The Minister of Migration and Displacement, Evan Faeq Jabro, announced today the return of 252 displaced people from the slums of Anbar to their original areas of residence in the province.
In a statement, Jabro stated that "(252) displaced people were finally returned from the slums of Ameriyat al-Fallujah in Anbar Governorate to their original areas of residence (in Ramadi, Ameriya, Fallujah, Saqlawiya, Al-Husay, Al-Karmah, and Al-Qaem), as part of the ministry's plan to end the displacement file."
She added, "The return of the displaced to their areas came on a voluntary basis, in cooperation with the local government in Anbar Governorate, the security forces and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), indicating that sums of money were distributed to them to help them provide the necessities for a decent life in the areas of return."
