Al-Araji discusses with a European delegation strengthening partnership and joint cooperation

The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, received today, Thursday, a delegation from the headquarters of the European Union, headed by the head of the European Union's advisory mission in Iraq, Andre Vibari, and in the presence of the Executive Adviser to the Council of the European Union, Maria Sanchez, and Josep Battaglia, program director at the European Union..

Al-Araji discussed with the European Union delegation, according to the Chancellery's statement, the strengthening of partnership and cooperation relations between the two sides, in the areas of consultation and training.

The European Union delegation presented project proposals funded by the European Commission to Iraq to support the Iraqi government's efforts in the field of combating money laundering and financing of terrorism, intelligence, criminal justice and law enforcement, as well as forensic evidence and digital evidence against drug smuggling.

Al-Araji assured the guest delegation that Iraq welcomes these proposals, noting that they are necessary and will be studied through technical meetings and the proposals of the security ministries, pointing out that the Iraqi government has priorities in the field of cybersecurity and drug control.

Al-Araji also indicated that Iraq is making unremitting efforts to end the Syrian Al-Hawl camp, which poses a threat to the region and the world, stressing the need for concerted efforts by the international community to dismantle and end it.
