The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul-Ghani, arrived today in the Turkish capital, Ankara, on a two-day official visit.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement: "The aim of the visit is to conduct discussions related to developing bilateral relations, expanding horizons of cooperation in the field of oil, gas and energy, in addition to discussing the file of resuming Iraqi oil exports through the Turkish port of Ceyhan."
It continued: "Minister Abdul Ghani will meet with the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Fatih Donmez, and a number of Turkish officials, to confirm Iraq's keenness to build bridges of trust and cooperation, to reach an agreement on resuming the process of exporting Iraqi oil through the Oil Marketing Company "SOMO" exclusively.
