Swiss Cyclist Clinches AlUla Tour Title

Alula: Swiss rider Jan Christen was crowned champion of the sixth AlUla Tour yesterday. Christen, representing UAE Team Emirates XRG, completed the race with an impressive time of 17 hours, 23 minutes, and 43 seconds.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Colombian rider Sergio Higuita of XDS Astana secured the second position, finishing just 15 seconds behind Christen. Igor Arrieta, also from UAE Team Emirates XRG, claimed the third spot.

UAE Team Emirates XRG achieved victory in the team category with a cumulative time of 52 hours, 12 minutes, and eight seconds. They were closely followed by XDS Astana, who finished 34 seconds later. The Pinarello-Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team rounded out the top three in team rankings.

The 2026 AlUla Tour marked its inaugural inclusion in the UCI ProSeries. The event drew participation from 17 international teams, each consisting of seven riders, totaling 119 elite cyclists. The race route was designed to highlight AlUla's distinctive natural and historical landscapes, offering participants and spectators a world-class sporting experience.
