Riyadh: stc Group, a leading digital enabler, and Nokia, a telecom innovation pioneer, have announced a bold new partnership to accelerate the development and deployment of 6G technology – the next generation of wireless networks delivering ultra-fast speeds, near-instant communication, and intelligent connectivity powered by AI.
According to Saudi Press Agency, under the sponsorship of Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), this collaboration leverages Nokia’s extensive expertise in 6G to support stc Group’s ambition of contributing to global 6G standards and ecosystems. It will introduce breakthrough technologies, including AI-driven networks, advanced spectrum trials, and cloud-based systems, to create more efficient, intelligent, and scalable telecommunications infrastructure. These advancements will meet the growing connectivity demands of the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region while driving technological progress and economic opportunities.
A key focus is exploring new spectrum bands – frequency ranges to improve how devices connect to each other, aligning with international telecom regulations set by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The partnership will also boost network efficiency, scalability, and sustainability, paving the way for new business models and innovative applications.
