Maldives: Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh began an official visit to the Republic of Maldives, heading a council delegation, at the invitation of Speaker of the People's Majlis (Parliament) of the Maldives Abdul Raheem Abdulla, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and opening new horizons for cooperation across various fields.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the visit, the Shura Council speaker will hold official talks with the speaker of the People's Majlis and meet with a number of senior Maldivian officials.

In a press statement, Al Al-Sheikh affirmed that the visit reflects the commitment of the leaderships of both countries to strengthening coordination and consultation in the service of their common interests, noting the bonds of Islamic brotherhood and bilateral understanding that unite the two countries. He expressed confidence that the visit would give new momentum to parliamentary relations between the Shura Council and the Maldivian Parliament.
