Riyadh: Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hanan Al-Ahmadi met today at the Shura Council in Riyadh with Chair of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Italian Senate Senator Stefania Craxi. Dr. Al-Ahmadi welcomed Senator Craxi and the accompanying delegation, highlighting the strong relations between the two friendly countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Al-Ahmadi outlined the Shura Council’s legislative and oversight roles, as well as the functions of its specialized committees. Dr. Al-Ahmadi also reviewed the Kingdom’s ongoing development and transformative progress under the framework of Saudi Vision 2030, noting the Kingdom’s efforts in promoting peace, upholding justice, protecting human rights, and contributing to the resolution of global crises at both regional and international levels.

Discussions during the meeting emphasized the importance of strengthening parliamentary cooperation and the role of joint friendship committees in enhancing ties and supporting parliamentary relations between the Shura Council and the Italian Senate. The two sides also discussed several topics of mutual interest.
