The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has announced the successful implementation of the operational plan for the Hajj season 1444 AH. Despite an unprecedented surge in power demand reaching 4,464 megawatts (MW), no blackouts or emergency incidents were recorded in Makkah and the holy sites.
The CEO of SEC, Eng. Khaled Al-Qunun, attributed this accomplishment to the unwavering support of the government, particularly the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince. He also acknowledged the efforts of officials from the Ministry of Energy and the Water and Electricity Regulatory Authority, as well as the dedication of over 2,000 SEC experts, engineers, and technicians who worked around the clock throughout the Hajj season.
Al-Qunun emphasized SEC's commitment to providing high-quality services and stated that the company would immediately begin preparations for its operational plan for the upcoming Hajj season 1444 AH.
