SDRPY Hosts Urban Recovery Dialogue at WUF13 in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan: The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) organized a dialogue session titled 'Insights on Urban Recovery From the Experience of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen' as part of the 13th edition of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Azerbaijan. The session was conducted at the Saudi Arabia pavilion, which is participating in the forum.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the session highlighted SDRPY's urban recovery model, which integrates vital sectors such as energy, water, and transportation to drive city stability. The dialogue emphasized the positive impact of development projects and initiatives in enhancing basic services, supporting the health and education sectors, and fostering community resilience. These efforts have also stimulated commercial and economic activities, contributing to a sustainable recovery path.

The forum also marked the signing of the second-phase agreement for the Adequate Housing project in collaboration with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat). Additionally, several meetings took place alongside the establishment of an introductory pavilion showcasing 287 development projects and initiatives implemented by SDRPY since 2018.

The projects span across key sectors, primarily focusing on education, health, energy, water, and transportation. They also include agriculture, fisheries, development programs, and efforts to strengthen Yemeni government capacities.
