Makkah: The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has deployed its advanced technological infrastructure to support the Makkah Route Initiative in the Republic of Maldives, operating an integrated digital ecosystem at the Velana International Airport terminal that expedites travel procedures and enhances service efficiency for Maldivian pilgrims from the moment they depart their home country.
According to Saudi Press Agency, through this digital network, pilgrim procedures are completed electronically, including instant data verification and entry registration, significantly reducing waiting times. Furthermore, SDAIA has linked all participating entities via a unified platform to ensure accurate data flow and streamlined processing at every stage of departure logistics.
This technological integration enables smart services such as electronically tagging and linking luggage directly to pilgrims' accommodations in the Kingdom, eliminating the need for baggage collection upon arrival. This use of data and artificial intelligence highlights the advancement of national digital solutions in creating a more convenient, efficient, and high-quality Hajj experience.
