Riyadh: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) has added 257 new, state-of-the-art ambulances to its fleet as part of a comprehensive project to elevate emergency medical services and improve healthcare outcomes for citizens, residents, and pilgrims.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the new vehicles are equipped with the latest medical technologies, functioning as mobile advanced care units. This allows emergency teams to initiate critical, life-saving treatment before a patient reaches a healthcare facility.
To enhance patient transport and safety, these ambulances feature electric stretchers that reduce physical strain on paramedics and advanced interior air purification systems to curb infection risks. Operationally, the fleet is integrated with a smart vehicle management system that monitors real-time readiness, driving behavior, and fuel consumption, while automatically scheduling maintenance to maximize efficiency.
The SRCA noted that the fleet expansion is part of a broader modernization initiative that goes beyond replacing aging vehicles. By introducing a comprehensive system of operational technologies, the authority aims to accelerate response times and align emergency medical services with global best practices, directly supporting the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030.
