Osaka: The Saudi Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka hosted representatives from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and delegates from three leading Japanese universities to mark the handover of the 3D coral reef project at the World Expo site.

According to Saudi Press Agency, as Expo 2025 Osaka draws to a close, Professor Tadd Truscott and his team from KAUST presented Japan with 3D-printed coral reef structures, which were printed daily throughout the Expo and installed on the coral wall inside the Sustainable Seas Hall of the Saudi Pavilion. The structures will soon be placed on coral bases off the coasts of Okinawa and Yoron Islands.

Saudi Ambassador to Japan and General Commissioner of the Saudi Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka Dr. Ghazi Binzagr emphasized that this special occasion reflects the depth of friendship and cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Japan. He noted that the event not only celebrates the Kingdom’s achievements in science and technology but also highlights the importance of international collaboration in addressing global challenges such as climate change and ocean health. He added that Saudi Arabia, through innovation and active partnerships, continues to demonstrate global leadership and a strong commitment to protecting marine ecosystems for future generations.

With only three days remaining before the conclusion of Expo 2025 Osaka and the handover of the Expo torch to Expo 2030 Riyadh, the Saudi Pavilion is preparing a vibrant lineup of events and activities, including live performances, traditional shows, and artistic displays celebrating Saudi culture, heritage, and creativity.

Visitors to the pavilion are taken on an immersive journey through interactive halls and rooms that explore themes such as advanced cities, sustainable seas, limitless human potential, and innovation, allowing them to experience the Kingdom’s growing global impact up close.
