Chengdu: The Saudi Irrigation Corporation participated in the 28th International Commission on Large Dams Congress, which concluded yesterday in Chengdu, China. The congress is recognized as a premier international platform for discussions on dam management, focusing on construction, operation, and maintenance of dams, alongside global challenges like sediment accumulation and climate change impacts.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the event sessions emphasized innovative methods and technologies designed to prolong dam lifespan and enhance operational efficiency. These discussions included the integration of AI applications for monitoring and analyzing dam performance, aimed at boosting safety and sustainability.

The Saudi delegation also engaged in field visits to prominent dams in Chengdu. This initiative underscores the corporation’s commitment to knowledge exchange and expertise development in dam management and operations on a global scale.
