The Saudi-Egyptian Technical Committee for Maritime Transport and Ports concluded today the activities of its seventh session, which extended from 31 July to 2 August in Jeddah.
Abdulrahman Althonayan, Deputy for Maritime Transport at the Transport General Authority (TGA), headed the Saudi side at the meetings, while Mohamed Abdel Rahim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Red Sea Ports, headed the Egyptian side.
Representatives from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Directorate of Border Guard, the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) and NEOM Company attended the meetings alongside members of the technical committee from the Egyptian side.
The meetings discussed means of cooperation between the two sides in the maritime transport fields, including encouraging cooperation concerning yacht and cruise ship tourism.
The meeting also tackled cooperation in the maritime transport industry and ports.
The delegations highlighted the deep strategic partnership between Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressing the need to strengthen this partnership in various fields to develop and serve the maritime sector industry and seafarers.
