Chicago: Saudi art has marked a new presence on the global stage with the presentation of the audiovisual installation 'Refusal' by Abdulrahman Hamdi on the fa§ade of THE MART in Chicago, as part of ART on THE MART, one of the world's leading digital public art platforms.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the work explores the tension between permanence and change, treating the massive architectural fa§ade as a fixed, solid entity, while unstable visual and audio sequences move across it, raising questions about meaning, transformation, perception, and inhabiting the space between what endures and what shifts.

Hamdi, currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, abstraction, and new media. His work has been featured in Vogue Arabia, Harper's Bazaar, and Arab News. He was nominated for the National Cultural Awards in 2023 and 2025, and for the Forbes 30 Under 30 List in its American edition in 2022.
