170 Athletes to Represent Saudi Arabia at GCC Games ‘Doha 2026’

Doha: The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee announced that the Saudi team will participate in the fourth edition of the GCC Games, hosted by Doha from May 11 to 22. More than 2,000 athletes representing all Gulf countries will compete in 20 sports.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi team will include more than 170 male and female athletes competing in 15 sports: archery, athletics, handball, fencing, swimming, shooting, show jumping, taekwondo, billiards and snooker, bowling, karate, padel, table tennis, boxing, and 3x3 basketball.

Participation in the GCC Games represents an important milestone within a broader competitive calendar that includes upcoming events, most notably the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 and the 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Dakar.

The GCC Games serve as a key platform for strengthening sports cooperation among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and reinforcing the values of brotherhood and fair competition. They also contribute to the development of GCC youth and reflect the deep-rooted ties among the peoples of the region.
