Makkah: In response to a generous invitation from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, paid a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 24/2/1448 AH, corresponding to 7/8/2026 AD. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister, received the President of Turkey and the Prime Minister of Pakistan at the Royal Court in Al-Safa Palace in Makkah. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Makkah Summit for Joint Defense was held, during which the distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Republic of Turkey were reviewed, as well as a number of issues of common interest. Based on the deep-rooted historical ties between the three countries, and on the bonds of brotherhood and Islamic solidarity that unite them, and based on the common strateg ic interests and close defense cooperation, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Turkey, and His Excellency Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, signed the Makkah Agreement for Joint Defense. The agreement reflects the three countries' keenness to enhance their common security and achieve security, peace, and stability in the region and the world in pursuit of a safe and prosperous future. The agreement aims to strengthen joint deterrence against any aggression, stipulating that any armed attack on any of the three countries is considered an attack on all of them. It also focuses on developing all aspects of defense cooperation among them.
