Makkah: A joint statement was issued today at the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Summit for Joint Defence between Saudi Arabia, Trkiye, and Pakistan. The summit was held at the invitation of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. President of the Republic of Trkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on August 7, 2026, to participate in this significant event.

According to Saudi Press Agency, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, welcomed President Erdogan and Prime Minister Sharif at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah. During the summit, leaders reviewed the distinguished relations among the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Trkiye, and Pakistan, as well as several issues of mutual interest.

The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, signed by HRH the Crown Prince, President Erdogan, and Prime Minister Sharif, underscores the shared commitment of the three countries to enhance their collective security and promote peace, security, and stability in the region. The agreement builds on the historical ties and enduring bonds of brotherhood and Islamic solidarity among the states, as well as their shared strategic interests and longstanding defense cooperation.

The agreement aims to strengthen collective deterrence against acts of aggression, stating that an armed attack on any of the three countries will be considered an attack on all. It also calls for enhanced defense cooperation among the nations, reflecting their dedication to a secure and prosperous future.
