Astana: The Saudi artificial intelligence team, overseen by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) in partnership with the Ministry of Education, is participating in the third International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2026), hosted in Astana, Kazakhstan, from August 2 to 8, 2026. The event brings together participants from more than 100 countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, members of the Saudi team have undergone an extensive preparation program, including forums and intensive training camps designed to develop their scientific and practical skills in artificial intelligence (AI), strengthen their problem-solving abilities, and enhance their expertise in developing AI models and algorithms ahead of one of the world's leading international competitions in the field.

The IOAI is one of the newest international science Olympiads for high school students. It aims to assess and develop participants' capabilities in AI technologies and applications through theoretical and practical examinations in machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision, while promoting innovation, collaboration, and the exchange of expertise among students from around the world.
