Green Riyadh Program Turns Shayb Ghudwanah into a Cool Summer Retreat

Riyadh: Shayb Ghudwanah has emerged as a natural summer destination under the Green Riyadh Program, with temperatures inside the area dropping by approximately 5°C compared to the surrounding city, thanks to dense tree cover and expanded green spaces.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Shayb Ghudwanah, one of the tributaries of Wadi Hanifah, underwent comprehensive environmental rehabilitation that included planting nearly 15,000 native trees and shrubs, establishing a 5-kilometer natural park with 22 kilometers of walking tracks, seating areas, pedestrian bridges, children's play areas, and sports facilities.

The project reflects the Green Riyadh Program's goals to elevate the quality of life, increase vegetation cover, and transform natural valleys into sustainable urban destinations.
