Riyadh: The Saudi embassy, consulate, cultural attach©, and Saudi student clubs in Australia are organizing a series of sporting and social events to bring together Saudi students enrolled in the scholarship program, their families, and residents during Ramadan.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiatives aim to foster a sense of community, strengthen social ties, and create a Ramadan atmosphere that reflects the spirit of cooperation and brotherhood, offering a sense of home away from home.
Saudi Students Club president in Sydney and UTS University doctoral student Hani Redha Al-Anazi stated that the club recently hosted a group Iftar, bringing together more than 200 Saudi citizens in Sydney and New South Wales. He noted that the event was warmly received, helping to ease feelings of homesickness and strengthen social bonds.
As Ramadan draws to a close, student clubs are preparing for Eid al-Fitr celebrations. Plans include organizing Eid prayers in coordination with mosques and Islamic centers, followed by social gatherings to further strengthen fraternal ties among students and their families.
To enhance the festive spirit, additional gatherings will be held in parks and public spaces, with the events documented and shared through media platforms to promote connectivity among Saudi students and families across Australia.
